PARENT MEETING SCHEDULE
PARENTS OF ALL CHILDREN IN OUR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM
are asked to attend a workshop HOLINESS, FAMILY STYLE. This workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 13, at 9:30 A.M. or 7:30P.M. The bishops of New England have once again emphasized that parents are the primary educators of their children in faith. Parish religion programs support them in that role. Please come to this special workshop to see how we can work together in this very important task.PARENTS OF CHILDREN ENTERING OUR SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION PROGRAM FOR FIRST PENANCE AND COMMUNION are asked to attend a workshop on Monday, September 18 at 1:00 P.M. or 7:30 P.M. If you would like your child to be a part of this program this school year, it is necessary that you attend one of these meetings. The sacramental program will be discussed at this time. If you do not attend, or do not call, your child will not be registered to receive these sacraments.
7TH AND 8TH GRADE FAMILIES
ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 7 AND 8 AND THEIR PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE MIDDLE SCHOOL WORKSHOP ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 AT 7:00. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM WILL BE EXPLAINED AT THAT TIME AND THE STUDENTS WILL PICK OUT THEIR FIRST COURSE FOR THE YEAR.
WOULD YOU CONSIDER TEACHING A SIX WEEK CLASS? CALL TODAY.
TEACHING RELIGION AT HOME IS STILL AN OPTION. PLEASE CALL ME AND I WILL EXPLAIN THIS PROGRAM TO YOU.
FIFTH GRADE FAMILIES are invited once again to participate in three special events this year during the Tuesday evening class time.
On Tuesday, October 17 (October being the month of the rosary). The fifth grade students, parents, and members of our parish family will participate in praying the rosary.
On Tuesday, November 7 at 6:30 (Election Day) I will present the Film "God Created Me" to the fifth graders and their parents. Please mark this date on your calendar because it is a day off from school.
On Tuesday, February 27, all fifth grade families will be invited to celebrate a Mardi Gras in anticipation of Lent which will begin the next day, Ash Wednesday.
SAINT CLARE CHURCH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION POLICY
:If there is early dismissal at school, regularly scheduled religion classes will still be held.
If school is canceled because of the weather, there will be no afternoon classes or evening classes.
If children are sent home early from school because of the weather, classes will be canceled. If a storm comes in after 2:00, I usually call D.C. Moore and Momauguin and they will announce the cancellation, but if your child goes to another school, you can call 467-5136 or 467-0600 to check.
Because of the congestion in the parking lot, all parents are asked to come to the classroom to pick up your child. The doors will be opened right before the end of class and all parents will be let into the hall. NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE PARKING LOT WITHOUT AN ADULT. This is for everyone's safety. And it is a great way for you to keep in touch with your child's teacher. When coming to pick up your child, please pull all the way into the parking lot. This way all parents will be able to park. Thank you for your co-operation. THERE ARE VOLUNTEERS IN THE PARKING LOT TO ASSIST THE CHILDREN WHEN LEAVING THE HALL. PLEASE CO-OPERATE WITH THEM
FAMILY CELEBRATIONS PLANNED
The response from all the families to the special activities has been extraordinary. There was standing room only for the living nativity and the Stations of the cross. We also had a good turn out for the rosary. These are traditions that I am committed to carry on. Please mark the special events on your calendar now so that you will not be left out of the spirit-filled evenings of fun and faith.
